Rules

Lift and evidence standards.

These are the standards the board actually enforces. If a lift holds rank, it has public evidence, the clip is unique, and an operator has reviewed it.

  1. 01

Public video evidence, or it didn't happen

Every ranked lift links to a public clip: an X post from your account or a YouTube video. The clip must show the lift you claim — the bar, the full range, the lockout, and you. No video, no rank.

  2. 02

The evidence is bound to your X account

You sign in with X, and an X post used as evidence must come from the account you signed in with. You cannot rank someone else's lift as yours. YouTube links are accepted but easier to contest, because the account is not bound to your handle.

  3. 03

    One clip, one claim

A video can only be used once on Outlift. Same clip, different URL, still the same clip. Film a new attempt when you want a bigger number.

  4. 04

Rank is DOTS, not raw kilos

DOTS is the bodyweight-adjusted scoring formula used in modern powerlifting. It answers the only interesting question — who is stronger for their size — so a 60 kg lifter pulling 140 kg can outrank a 110 kg lifter pulling 180 kg. The raw weight is always shown next to the score. The kg/lbs toggle only changes display; the board stores kilograms.

  5. 05

    Three lifts, four boards

Deadlift, back squat, and bench press are independent competitions with their own rankings. Total is the sum of your best verified lift in all three — you need all three to appear on it. Total is one board among four, not the canonical ranking.

  6. 06

Rank is earned after operator verification

Submissions stay pending until the operator reviews the evidence. Verified lifts hold rank. A challenged lift keeps its rank while the operator checks it again — a challenge never removes rank on its own. Rejected lifts leave the ranking. A challenged lift that holds up comes back as reverified. No one is ever told they earned a rank before verification.

  7. 07

Lift challenges are public and named

After watching the evidence, any signed-in lifter can challenge a ranked lift with one structured reason under their own public X handle: the weight doesn't match, that's not this lifter, wrong lift or no-lift, or the bodyweight looks off. The operator alone decides the outcome — never a vote, reviewer panel, flag count, or automated trigger.

  8. 08

Profession, company, and country never affect rank

What you do and where you do it is optional profile context. It powers cohort filters so you can compare against people like you. It never changes a DOTS score, a rank, or a review outcome.

  9. 09

    Rank cannot be bought

Rank cannot be bought. There are no paid slots, sponsored positions, or follower bonuses. Follower count, sponsorship, and payment have no effect on rank. The only input is a verified lift.

The five lift states

  • Pending reviewSubmitted. An operator reviews the evidence before it can rank.
  • VerifiedEvidence reviewed and approved.
  • Challenge activeA lift challenge is active. Rank stands until the operator decides.
  • RejectedAn operator rejected the evidence. Off the ranking.
  • ReverifiedThe operator confirmed the evidence after a challenge.

Three different verifications

  • Identity verification is X sign-in. It proves which account you are — nothing more.
  • Lift verification is the operator review of your public video evidence. It is what puts a lift on the ranking.
  • Business verification is optional context about a company or project. It never affects rank, and it is never for sale.
